Mike Revenson is this year's recipient of the Fireman's Association of the State of New York (FASNY) EMS Teacher of the Year Award.

Revenson joined the Mahopac Fire Department and started his career at the Mahopac School District in 1989. He also began working part time as a paramedic in Westchester County.

In 1994, he became one of Putnam's first paramedics.

In the early 2000's, Revenson presented the idea of an "in-house" EMT class at the high school, everybody was on board. It was meant to recruit new EMT's and add much needed youth to the ranks of local emergency service departments.

The pilot program was the first of its kind in Putnam.

The Mahopac High School EMT program generates 35 New York state-certified Emergency Medical Technicians a year.
