New York State Police troopers were monitoring traffic on the interstate at 9:15 p.m. Monday when they spotted a Honda — driven by Waterbury, Conn., resident Jose Rosado — driving in excess of 110 mph.

Troopers attempted to stop Rosado, but said that he sped away when he saw the police lights and sirens, taking the troopers on a chase that ended on Old Mine Road.

When Rosado eventually relented and stopped his vehicle, police said that he became combative toward the troopers, physically attempting to resist arrest before eventually being apprehended.

Once in custody, Rosado was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, obstructing a government official, reckless endangerment of property and driving while intoxicated, all misdemeanors.

Rosado was arraigned in the Town of Patterson Justice Court before being remanded to the Putnam County Jail on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. He is due back in the Town of Southeast Justice Court next month to answer the charges.
