Police said troopers patrolling Interstate 84 stopped the vehicle that Ramirez was operating for traveling under 40 miles per hour in a posted 55-mile-per-hour zone. Police said while they conducted their investigation, they discovered that Ramirez was intoxicated.

Police said Ramirez provided police with the name and date of birth of another person, knowingly misrepresenting his actual identity. He was arrested and issued tickets for DWI under the fictitious name he supplied police, according to police. Ramirez was arraigned in the Southeast Town Court and released on his own recognizance, police said.

Shortly after Ramirez was released from police custody, it was discovered that he had given police the name “Rodriguez” to avoid arrest, police said. By providing police with an altered name, he forged and created false business records at the East Fishkill station, according to police. Troopers located Ramirez at a nearby plaza and charged him with additional charges, police said.

Ramirez was arraigned in the Town of East Fishkill Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.

Ramirez is scheduled to appear in the Town of East Fishkill Court on Wednesday, April 22, at 4 p.m. He is also scheduled to appear before the Town of Southeast Court on the charges of DWI on Saturday, May 23.
