A Poughkeepsie man was nabbed by Kent police with heroin and other drugs during a traffic stop, according to Kent Police Chief Alex DiVernieri Jr.
Nicholas Wennersten, 26, was stopped by Officer Dan Huestis and Det. Ray Beauchesne on Oct. 31 for having an expired inspection sticker, the chief said.
During the stop, the officers determined that Wennersten was in possession of a quantity of heroin, suboxone, as well as hypodermic needles, DiVernieri Jr. said.
He was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of hypodermic needles. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 16.
