DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - A Dutchess County woman was busted by state police troopers on drug charges following a traffic stop on Route 9 in Wappinger.

State police troopers stopped 22-year-old Poughkeepsie resident Jamila Chlih on Route 9 on Thursday for a routine traffic stop in Wappinger. During the subsequent stop, it was determined that Chlih was in possession of Hydrocodone and approximately 1.88 pounds of marijuana.

Police arrested Chlih at the scene and charged her with a felony count of second-degree criminal possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

Chlih was arraigned at the Town of Wappinger Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. She is due back in court next week, on Monday, Aug. 14 to answer the charges.
