MAHOPAC, N.Y. --  Fire and police officials from Mahopac Falls, Carmel and the New York State police spent several hours investigating a rollover accident Monday evening where no driver or passengers were found at the scene, according to the Mahopac Falls Fire Department.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Baldwin Place Road and Myrtle Avenue. First arriving units found the vehicle upright and against a pole with no one in sight. Fire units began a search of the immediate area along with a call for the department's thermal imaging cameras to be brought out.

According to Sacher, the man walked came walking up the road after officials had stopped looking for any survivors.

The man, was slightly injured and taken to Westchester Medical Center for treatment, Sacher said.

"It was definitely a bit of a strange event," Sacher said. "We have no idea where he went."
