Police: Poughkeepsie Pair Caught With 9 Bags Of Crack Cocaine In Red Hook

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - Two Poughkeepsie men were charged with possession of a controlled substance Sunday after Red Hook police busted them with nine bags of crack cocaine, Red Hook Police said.

Dean F. Brown, 47, and Alexander Soto, 38, were nabbed after officers topped them around 9:35 pm on North Broadway, police said.

During the stop, Brown was found to be driving on with a suspended license and was in possession of crack cocaine. Soto, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was also in possession of nine bags of crack cocaine, police said.

Brown was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle as well as criminal possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors. He was processed and released on tickets.

Soto was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a felony. He was arraigned in court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.
