Wappingers Falls resident Anthony Abbot, 34, was apprehended by state police troopers in Marlborough after allegedly causing a scene at the CVS Pharmacy on Riverview Drive last week.

According to police, Abbot entered the pharmacy and allegedly forcibly took narcotics. He is also accused of forcibly taking property from a female customer, as well as attempting to rob an additional customer and attempting to carjack two vehicles from the parking lot.

Abbot was taken into custody near the store by police in Marlborough. Further investigation determined that he was linked to a separate carjacking incident earlier in the day in New Windsor, where the victim sustained serious injuries.

After being arrested, Abbot was charged with two counts of robbery, one count of attempted robbery, and two counts of attempted robbery, all felonies. Following arraignment, Abbot was remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail. He is due back in the Town of Malborough Justice Court later this year to answer the charges.
