On Monday, April 24, state police arrested Poughkeepsie resident Victoria Serino following a lengthy investigation into the illegal sale and trade-in of her friend's 2001 Mercedes-Benz at an area car dealership.

According to police, in January, troopers were contacted by a man in upstate Rome who reported that his Mercedes had been traded at a Poughkeepsie car dealership without his permission. The subsequent investigation would determine that Serino forged the title for the Mercedes and submitted an application to the DMV for a new title in her own name.

Upon receiving the title to the Mercedes, police said that Serino traded the car for a 2016 Mazda.

Serino was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, grand larceny and falsifying business records, all felonies. She was arraigned in the Village of Wappingers Falls Court and released on her own recognizance. She is due back in court on Monday, May 9.
