The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 46-year-old Addie Davis on Wednesday, for a charge of welfare fraud that stemmed from the investigation into her alleged scheme.

According to police, the investigation - which was conducted in conjunction with the Special Investigations Unit of the Dutchess County Community and Family Services Department - determined that Davis allegedly received $3,623 in SNAP benefits between May 2014 and July 2016 by concealing the fact that her income had been increased at her place of employment.

Davis was arrested last week and charged with third-degree welfare fraud, a felony. She was processed and arraigned at the City of Poughkeepsie Court and released on her own recognizance. Davis is due back in court next month
