Probation 'Home Check' Ends With Putnam Woman Nabbed With Cocaine

PUTNAM VALLEY, N.Y. -- A woman on probation was charged with cocaine possession during a "home check" visit at her Putnam Valley residence, said Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith.

Deputy Sheriff Frank Gallipani was assisting the Putnam County Probation Department with a home check on Oscawana Lake Road and found probationer and resident Wanda C. Eastman, 52, in possession of "quantities" of cocaine, according to police. 

The deputy arrested Eastman and charged her with felony possession of cocaine.

The suspect was processed at the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department Nelsonville Substation.

She is being held at the Putnam County Correctional Facility pending arraignment.

If found guilty of the felony charge, the defendant could face up to seven years in a New York State Correctional Facility and a fine of up to $5,000.
