Wayne Franklin, 33, was charged Wednesday with robbery following his arrest for the May 5 robbery of an unnamed store at 75 Garden St., said Det. Lt. Matt Clark.

During the first robbery, Franklin is accused of entering the store with a handkerchief over his mouth and put his hand in his pocket as if he had a gun and demanded money, Clark said.

After getting the money, he fled on Mansion Street, police said.

The next week on May 11, Franklin is accused of entering LaDeliziosa at 10 Mount Carmel Place, pulling a mask over his face and again placing his hand in his pocket as if he had a gun, Clark said.

After getting the money he fled on Mount Carmel, police said.

Later that same evening Franklin was identified and captured by police for the robbery. He was charged with felony robbery and criminal possession of a controlled substance, Clark said.

A follow-up investigation determined that Franklin was also responsible for the store robbery on May 5, and was arrested again on Wednesday and charged with the second robbery, he added.

Franklin is being held without bond at the Dutchess County Jail.
