Stormville Man Going 90 MPH Caught With Crack, Heroin, Police Say

A Stormville man is behind bars after police clocked him going more than 90 miles an hour with drugs in his vehicle.

Dariush Moazami, 28, was stopped around 11:10 p.m. Tuesday when deputies with the Ulster County Sheriff's Office clocked him traveling more than 90 miles per hour on Broadway in the Town of Esopus, the department said.

Deputies were able to successfully stop Moazami, and during the stop, deputies uncovered crack cocaine, heroin and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Deputies also found that Moazami's license was suspended and he was driving the vehicle without the owner's consent, police said. 

Moazami was charged with charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hypodermic instrument, possession of a drug paraphernalia, unlicensed operation of a vehicle and several traffic violations.

He is being held at the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 secured bond.
