DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Town of Poughkeepsie man was nabbed on Wednesday for two armed Citizen's Bank robberies after responding police were able to track him down, police said.
Adam S. Malavase, 32, was arrested following the robbery that took place around 10:40 a.m. Wednesday at 32 Vassar Road, said Lt. Gary Hulbert.
The hunt for Malavase began after police received a call from bank personnel reporting they had been robbed by a man using a firearm, Hulbert said.
Responding officers were provided with a vehicle description, obtained by a bank security officer. While officers were conducting an initial investigation at the bank, other officers located the vehicle matching the reported description at a residence in the town, Hulbert added.
As a result of the investigation, Malavase was charged for Wednesday's robbery and for a previously reported bank robbery on Wednesday, March 8, at the same bank. Charges from the previous incident are pending, Hulbert said.
Malavase who was charged with felony first-degree robbery is being held at the Dutchess County Jail on $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 20.
Anyone who may have witnessed the robbery is asked to call the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department Detective Division at 845-485-3670.
