In a report this week, Yorktown News said President Donald J. Trump’s surname was removed from the Trump Park Residences sign, though whether the full name was removed by vandals or the development’s owners was not clear.

Yorktown police said the “T” in Trump was reported missing twice in the past few months, but could not comment about other missing letters, according to Yorktown News, which reported that the letter was not recovered in either case and that no arrests have been made in connection with the thefts.

There are 141 units in Trump Park Residences, which is owned by Yorktown Realty Associates LLC, a subsidiary of Cappelli Enterprises.

While there appears to be at least one person illegally pushing for the removal of the Trump name from local signage, there are others who have made similar, though legal, calls for the same.

In December 2015, a state senator from Brooklyn drafted a bill and wrote Gov. Andrew Cuomo urging that Trump’s name be removed from Donald J. Trump State Park on the Westchester/Putnam border.

Despite the effort, the park’s original name remains.

Trump, who owns the $19.5 million Seven Springs estate in Bedford, also owns Trump National Golf Club Hudson Valley in Stormville and Trump National Westchester in Briarcliff Manor. The Trump name also adorns Trump Tower At City Center in White Plains and Trump Plaza in New Rochelle.
