Firefighters from the Brewster Fire Department were dispatched to Route 6 at the intersection of Simpson Road in Brewster at approximately 10 a.m. on Friday night, where there was a car fully engulfed in flames.
Crews quickly went to work, knocking down the flames and dousing the destroyed car with water before clearing the scene. Route 6 was shut down for approximately 30 minutes as the fire was extinguished. The cause of the fire has not been released. No injuries were reported.
