Video: Final Clip Posted Of 'Voice' Contestant From NJ Shot Dead In Florida

A video was posted Saturday of a onetime star of "The Voice" from South Jersey performing onstage Friday night in an Orlando, FL concert hall -- a short time before a gunman shot and killed her as she signed autographs afterward and then turned the gun on himself.

"With deep regret, we have confirmed Christina Grimmie, @TheRealGrimmie, has died from her injuries," Orlando police tweeted just after midnight.

They followed with a news release Saturday morning.

Officers responding to a call of shots fired at the Plaza Live theater just before 10:30 p.m., found the shooter dead and Grimmie, 22, with critical injuries, Officer Michelle Guido and Sgt. Wanda Miglio wrote.

Grimmie had performed with the band Before You Exit and hung around with band members "to sign autographs for fans and sell merchandise" when she was struck three times, they said.

Grimmie's brother tackled the killer, "stopping him from causing any more harm to Christina and her fans," the officers wrote, adding that the not-yet-identified gunman shot himself during the struggle.

"Christina was a talented young artist and we know that her fans and supporters want as much information as possible," the release says. "We know there are many questions and we will do our best to answer them as the investigations unfolds."

"There are no words," read a tweet from The Voice. "We lost a beautiful soul with an amazing voice."

Her coach, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, wrote on Instagram: "I'm sad, shocked and confused. We love you so much Grimmie."

A native of Marlton, in Burlington County, Grimmie finished third during season six of NBC's "The Voice" in 2014, competing on Levine's team. She moved to Los Angeles in 2012 after touring with Selena Gomez.

#PrayforChristina was the top trending hashtag on Twitter when the news broke. #RIPChristina took its place after her death was confirmed.
