State police in the Wappinger barracks said Amanda L. Murphy originally was arrested in May 2015 for possessing a controlled substance and in July 2015 Murphy was arrested for entering Downstate Correctional Facility in Fishkill with a hypodermic needle containing heroin residue.

Eight months ago, state police said she also is wanted on charges of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, promoting prison contraband and possession of a hypodermic instrument.

Murphy's last known address was in the Village of Wappingers Falls, according to Melissa McMorris, a state police spokeswoman. This month, McMorris said that Murphy remains a fugitive with an outstanding warrant.

Murphy is wanted by the Village of Fishkill Court and the Town of Fishkill Court after she failed to appear for court proceedings in early 2016, police said. She is described as a 5-foot 4-inch tall blonde with blue eyes and weighing about 132 pounds.

Anyone with information as to Murphy's whereabouts are asked to call the New York State Police at (845) 677-7300 or email Crimetip@troopers.ny.gov.
