An aide to state Sen. Bill Larkin, R-C-Cornwall-on Hudson, resigned Tuesday from his job in the wake of a felony domestic violence indictment.
"Today Senator Larkin accepted Robert Nickol's resignation effective immediately," Larkin’s spokesman, Brian Maher, said on Tuesday.
Nickol, 32, of Albany, was indicted last week on felony counts of second-degree strangulation, second-degree assault and a misdemeanor assault count. He was released without bail.
Larkin's Senate district includes Haverstraw and Stony Point in Rockland County, the city of Newburgh and these towns in Orange County: Blooming Grove, Chester, Cornwall, Crawford, Highlands, Monroe, Montgomery, New Windsor, Newburgh and Woodbury.
