Incumbent County Legislator Defeated Tops Putnam Primary Residents

District 8 is set to have a new legislator.

Amy Sayegh knocked off incumbent Dini LoBue in the Republican primary 57 percent to 43 percent, according to unofficial returns from the Putnam County Board of Elections. Sayegh also defeated LoBue in the Conservative primary and won the Independence line.

In the Republican primary for Carmel Town Council, Michael Barile and Councilwoman Suzi McDonough defeated Councilman Frank Lombardi. Barile had 40 percent, McDonough had 31 percent and Lombardi had 29 percent, according to unofficial returns from the Putnam County Board of Elections. 

In the Republican primary for Patterson Town Council, Mary Smith and Councilman Peter Dandreano defeated Joseph Capasso. Smith had 39 percent, Dandreano had 34 percent and Capasso had 26 percent.
