Incumbents Prevail In Village Elections

It was a good night to be an incumbent as villages held their municipal elections on Tuesday night.

In Cold Spring, Mayor David Merandy was re-elected in a tight race, defeating challenger Alison Anthoine 369-347.

Incumbents Marie Earlie and Frances Murphy were re-elected to the village board, defeating Margaret Shatzle. 

In Buchanan, incumbent Democrats Duane Jackson and Cesare Pasquale defeated Republican challengers Robert Lupica and Anthony Capicotti for two seats on the village board.

Jackson and Pasquale got 193 votes and 191 votes respectively. Capricotti and Lupica got 160 and 127 votes respectively.

In Pleasantville, incumbent Steven Lord was re-elected with 429 votes, while Nicole Asquith while Nicole Asquith was elected with 419 votes. Jeremiah Lynch, who dropped out before the election, received 97 votes.
