To the Editor:

Citizens of New York have endured public officials enriching themselves for years with citizens helpless to stop it.

Unlike 29 other states, New York does not have a recall provision, allowing corruption to continue to the detriment of the public.

But we are not powerless.

There is a way out.

State Sen. Tony Avella and Assemblyman Luis Sepulveda have bills that would provide recall upon the petition of 15 percent of eligible voters.

We are urging its passage.

Please sign so we can get the ball rolling.

We need Republicans, Democrats and everyone in between.
