To the Editor:
The residents of Putnam County are fortunate that Robert Langley has stepped forward to run for Sheriff.
Robert Langley has the experience and the integrity necessary for this important office at this critical time. Mr. Langley has 23 years of service in the sheriff’s department with experience on patrol, in corrections, in investigations, and in forensics; he has also been a volunteer fire fighter in Mahopac and Garrison for 22 years. He is the complete package.
I am especially pleased that Robert Langley is on the ballot given the very troubling tenure of the current Sheriff Donald Smith. Sheriff Smith has admitted to lying under oath and his dishonesty has already cost Putnam County taxpayers $125,000 in a legal settlement. And there is a much, much larger second legal suit that is pending.
Fortunately, we can act to stop this unnecessary squandering of our tax dollars by voting for Robert Langley for Sheriff on November 7th.
