YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Selling a home is hard work, but one Westchester-based real estate agent is making it seem easy. As one of the nation's top home sellers, area residents have access to expert-level help right around the corner.
Houlihan Lawrence's Maria Makaj was recently named one of America’s most productive real estate agents in 2016. After closing millions of dollars in sales last year, Makaj is now a member of “America’s Best Real Estate Agents” according to REAL Trends, which ranks the country's best agents each year. “I am humbled and honored to be ranked among the country’s top residential real estate agents,” said Makaj. “It represents the time and effort that I put into each customer that I serve and how much work it takes to build a successful real estate career."
Makaj is a full-time real estate professional who has been working throughout Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties for more than 13 years. “Thank you to all my wonderful clients for making this honor possible and entrusting me to make your dream come true,” she said.
Makaj is one of the thousands of real estate professionals selected to "America's Best Real Estate Agents" based on their performance in 2016. “This group of highly successful real estate sales agents represents less than 1 percent of all real estate practitioners in the United States,” says Steve Murray, publisher of REAL Trends America’s Best Real Estate Agents and president of REAL Trends.
To qualify for inclusion, an agent must have closed at least 50 transactions or $20 million in sales volume in 2016. “The average residential real estate agent in the United States closed 8.6 transactions in 2016 and had less than $1.3 million in sales,” said Murray. “To say that Maria Makaj is an exceptional sales professional is an understatement. To attain this level of sales is truly outstanding.”
