BREWSTER, N.Y. -- A video purportedly of recent Brewster High School graduates using profanity and racial slurs was posted on Twitter Sunday.
The seven-second video was shared by Baller Alert and sent anonymously by a student at Brewster, according to Baller Alert. The students in the video graduated this year, according to the district.
"What this does to young black kids is heartbreaking," the student wrote to Baller Alert. "It seems like we can never win. Walking around the hallways will (sic) people like this in my school makes me sick."
Valerie Henning, Superintendent of the Brewster Central School District said the district repudiates the comments made by these individuals in the strongest possible terms.
"Knowing that these individuals attended a school district where values of equality and respect for all are fostered, it is disappointing to learn about this incident," Henning said. "We know that these attitudes are not reflective of our school district or community. We remain firmly committed to providing an education that celebrates diversity and fosters mutual respect."
