After spending five years as the Mahopac High Director of Athletics, John Augusta had an opportunity to become the school's Principal, and since stepping in just four months ago, Augusta has made the position his own.

Augusta grew up in Brooklyn, attending Edward R Murrow High before heading to Castleton University in Vermont, where he studied criminal justice and education.

Prior to coming to Mahopac, Augusta was AD at Walter Panas High for five years. He spent two years as AD at Proctor High School in Vermont before that.

Though his title as Principal is technically 'interim,' Augusta told Daily Voice he's enjoying the relationships and responsibilities of his new position, and has an open mind as far as staying in the spot. Watch the video to see Augusta's comments on that subject, as well as what he loves about his job, what he finds special about Mahopac High School, and more.
