MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- A Mahopac man was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop on Monday, Feb. 13, by Putnam County Sheriff's deputies, said Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith.
Matthew Singer, 44, was charged after being stopped for traffic violations by Deputy Christopher Irwin on Route 6N in Mahopac. During the course of the traffic stop, Irwin discovered Singer was allegedly in possession of quantities of heroin and cocaine, Smith said.
He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and ticketed for several traffic infractions, sheriff's officials added.
Singer was released on his own recognizance pending a future appearance in the Town of Carmel Justice Court.
