Woodside Elementary School Showcases Peekskill Mural

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- A Peekskill Open Studios is set for Saturday, June 4 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Woodside Elementary School so the public can view the school's newly created mural.

The students worked with artists recently on a large-scale mural project based on the diverse community of Peekskill.

Artists Andrew Barthelmes, Geoff Feder, Lance Johnson and Donna Mikkelsen and the children collaborated as as part of Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art's In-School Artist Residency Program.

The program brings artists into the school to work with students, aiming to enhance and enrich Woodside's standard curriculum.

The school is located at 612 Depew St., Peekskill.

Transportation is available at 1027 Park St., Peekskill - parking lot between Brown and Park Streets from 1 to 4 p.m.
