Carmel HS Runner Muniz Places 18th At Nationals

CARMEL, N.Y. -- Benito Muniz, a Carmel High School senior, finished 18th at the Foot Locker National Cross Country Championships at Balboa Park in San Diego Saturday, Dec. 13, according to a report by LoHud.com.

Muniz was just three spots away from qualifying for an All-American, with a time of 15 minutes and 47 seconds, which was his highest finish at the cross country finals, the report said.

Muniz finished the race 90th and 53rd, respectively, at the past two national championships in Portland, Ore., the report said.
