Carmel went a solid 7-2 last fall, losing in the first round of playoffs to Mamaroneck.

Cayea, entering his 22nd year as Head Coach, has a mostly new staff this season. Jay Memmel is the lone returnee, and is joined by Brandon Johansen (Mahopac grad), Jim Donahoe (brother of former Mahopac coach Tom Donahoe), and former Brewster quarterback Chris Santos.

"We have a nice senior group back, and we have some experience on the line," Cayea told Daily Voice during a recent training camp visit. "They have the talent, they have the ability... we'll see how they do in game situations."

Carmel will get a chance to see that when the Rams open the 2016 season on September 2, hosting Arlington at 7 p.m.
