Tyler Lydon, a former star at Pine Plains in Dutchess County who took his talents to Syracuse University, is being eyed by NBA teams as a late first or early second-round draft pick, according to experts throughout the country.

A lifelong Knicks fan, the 6-foot, 8-inch forward left Syracuse after his sophomore year, where he averaged more than 13 points, two assists and 36 minutes per game. He also proved adept at the free throw line, raising his percentage at the stripe from 77 to 83 percent from his freshman to sophomore year.

Draft experts have Lydon being picked as high as the 23rd pick to the Toronto Raptors (Draft Express) or as late as the 39th pick in the second round to the Philadelphia 76ers (Bleacher Report).
