Pequenakonck Elementary Starts 'MakerFaire' For Students' Projects NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Pequenakonck Elementary School announced that it will hold its inaugural "MakerFaire," which will showcase its students' technology projects. The MakerFaire will include projects in engineering, 3D printing, robots and circuits, among others. Participating students are in second through fifth grades. The MakerFaire will be held on Thursday, March 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the school. More information is available here.

Muscoot Farm Welcomes Three Newborn Pygmy Goats SOMERS, N.Y. -- Muscoot Farm in Somers has three new additions to his animal residents Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino's office announced that a trio of pygmy goats was recently born at the farm. "The newborns, also known as “kid” goats, are a miniature breed of domestic goats that can weigh between 55-85 pounds," the county executive's office noted. "Pygmy goats are known to have a good temperament and friendly personalities, which makes them very popular at petting zoos and farms." Brewster Girl Scouts Collecting Supplies For Midnight Run BREWSTER, N.Y. -- Two Brewster Girl Scouts are collecting supplies for an upcoming midnight run to help the homeless, according to the Seven Star School of Performing Arts, which is hosting a drop-off. North Castle Starting April With 'Egg-cellent' Hunts ARMONK, N.Y. -- North Castle is marking the start of April (and Easter weekend) with two "Egg-cellent" Hunts. The first is scheduled to be at the IBM Community Park's track and field in Armonk on Saturday, April 1 at 10 a.m. The location is at 205 Business Park Drive. Bell Middle School will perform in several renditions of "Beauty and the Beast Jr.," an adaption of the Disney movie for a younger cast. All Traffic Now Banned On I-84, Cuomo Says Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that Interstate 84 is being closed to all traffic due to heavy snowfall. The travel ban became effective at 1 p.m. on Tuesday. The entire New York stretch of I-84, which runs from the border with Pennsylvania to the border with Connecticut, is affected, Cuomo's office added. There are some exceptions to the ban, as Cuomo's office said that "only emergency personnel, first responders, and other critical healthcare personnel will be permitted on the roadway."
