Carmel Firefighters Serve Up Pancake Breakfast, Candy Cane Run
CARMEL, N.Y. -- A pancake breakfast, then a candy cane run the following weekend, are some of the community events in Carmel that center on the holidays.
The breakfast, from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Dec. 3, is planned at the Carmel Fire Department, 94 Gleneida Ave., Carmel.
The meal is $7 for adults; $5 for kids.
The department's candy cane giveaway, when members on a firetruck will hand out the candies to kids, is Saturday, Dec. 10.
Participants should look out for the trucks, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Noted Author Comes To Putnam For Pearl Harbor's 75th Anniversary
PUTNAM VALLEY, N.Y. -- Historian and New York Times bestselling author Craig Nelson will present an author talk at the Putnam Valley Free Library on Saturday, Dec. 10, as the country approaches the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
