Set in 1910 England and based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's "Mary Poppins" entertained Broadway audiences for more than 2,500 performances, and now it will be performed on the Brewster High School stage.

Mary Poppins is the practically perfect nanny who has helped young audiences learn to take their medicine with a spoonful of sugar, find the silver lining in every situation, and realize that sometimes they  should just use the winds of change to go fly a kite.

Mary brings order to the Banks household, takes Jane and Michael out on magical adventures, and dispenses sage advice such as, "anything can happen if you let it."

"Mary Poppins" is full of fantasy and magic, and yes, there will be flying.

The score features everyone’s favorite Poppins tunes, including "A Spoonful of Sugar," "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious," "Jolly Holiday," "Let's Go Fly a Kite," "Step in Time," and "Chim-Chim-er-ee."

The student cast features Megan Campbell as Mary Poppins, RJ Frankenberry as Bert, Aaron Lurin as George Banks, Erin Vaughan as Winifred Banks, and Taylor Byrne as the evil nanny Miss Andrew.

The Banks children are played by H.H. Wells Middle School student Brooke Ryan (Jane Banks) and C V Starr Intermediate School student Nico Corrado (Michael Banks).

Under the direction of Stephanie Rubino, the creative team includes George Viglucci, musical director; Patricia Taylor, vocal director; Michelle and Nicole Aravena, choreographers; Jan Anthony and Anthony Kimble, set designers; and Joe Beahm, lighting designer.

Performances will take place on March 23 and 24 at 7:30p.m., March 25 at 2:00 p.m.and 7:30 p.m., and March 26 at 2:00 p.m.
