Inn on the Hudson is bidding farewell to Bruce and Barbara Prehal, who are retiring to Florida.

Doug Dellipaoli has joined the Inn, a city landmark for than 60 years, as its new general manager. In addition, Inn on the Hudson has announce the opening of a new restuarant, Vue, on Nov. 2.

The Prehals have been with the Inn for the past 13 years, first as its restaurant owners and then with Bruce serving as General Manager.

He is credited with carrying the Inn through the 2008-2010 recession by making extensive renovations to the Inn’s buildings, rooms and grounds and by upgrading the Inn's technology.

The upgrades included  the installation of a new online reservation system and launch of a new web site.

Bruce has served on the Board of Directors of the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the Peekskill Rotary.

The Inn was named “Business of the Year” by the Chamber earlier this year.

Barbara, in addition to her duties at the Inn, worked as the Business Manager for the Chamber.

“Bruce managed us through the worst of times in our 60-year history, yet he is leaving us at the best of times. We are witness to improvements in all aspects of our business. He has helped set the stage for the continued success of the Inn’s new management team,” said President Richard Braverman, whose family has managed the Inn for three generations.

A celebration party is set for Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 5 p.m. at the Inn.
