The workshop, which is geared toward adult women ages 17 and older, aims to shatter "that time of the month" taboos, according to a statement from the library.

According to the library, women are increasingly turning toward washable pads. The workshop will discuss why the shift is occurring and how such pads can be made at home.

The group also will discuss how to create tea blends specifically designed for menstruation/menopause issues, according to the library, which noted that certain herbs have powerful healing capabilities and can help with hot flashes, PMS, mood swings, cramps and night sweats.

The workshop is to be led by Barbara Uebrick-Royals, Velya Jancz-Urban and Ehris Urban. Registration is required and can be done online or by calling the Kent Public Library at 845-225-8585. The library is located at 17 Sybil's Crossing.
