The sessions, scheduled for 7-8p.m. on June 1, 8 and 15, will each be different, but will deal with the substance abuse issue.

The June 1 session is called "Decision or Disease?: Understanding the Addicted Brain." It is to be led by Dr. Frederick R. Hesse, medical director at Arms Acres, a rehab center in Carmel.

On June 8, Ray Dorritie, PhD, and Susan Salomone, founder of Drug Crisis in our Backyard, are set to host "Family Toolkit: Resources for Healthy Family Functioning". Salomone's organization works in the community to aid families who have experienced addiction.

The final session of the series, "Community Resources: Treatment and Recovery Prevention Options," is to be led by Doreen Lockwood, CASAC, a project coordinator for the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence.

Each session is to be held at Putnam Hospital Center's Weber Auditorium and Conference Room at 670 Stoneleigh Ave. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
