Brewster's Red Rooster Vies For 'Top Dog' In DVlicious Hot Dog Contest

BREWSTER, N.Y. -- The classic hot dog, in all its bronzed, charred perfection, holds a special place in the hearts – and stomachs -- of most Americans, especially come summer. July, in fact, is National Hot Dog Month, thanks to the designation by the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council.

Frank Talk: Red Rooster uses Sabrett hot dogs, and a roller grill which makes for classic dogs. Manager Jon Callahan credits the eatery's success to its retro atmosphere -- it's been in business since 1963 and sports a picnic area and playground. "The atmosphere is family-friendly... and eating here is loke taking a step back in time," he said.
