Frankie's is well known for its namesake over-sized Belgian waffles and delicious burgers, but they also have some first-rate soups.

Formerly the Mahopac Diner, Frankie's expanded to accommodate more customers, and decided on the name change, three years ago.

"We became known for our waffles, so it seemed right," Carina Evangelista, who owns the place with her husband Frankie, told Daily Voice. "We want to thank everyone for their votes. Our motto here is 'come in as a customer, and leave as a friend.' "

Evangelista said fresh food and friendly service keeps repeat customers coming back. "Our food is always fresh, and we always love to see our customers," she said.

The most popular items at Frankie's include their signature Belgian waffles or pancakes (gluten free) - with an assortment of toppings, never frozen burgers, panini, soups and omelettes.

Frankie's, located at 565 Route 6 in Mahopac, is open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch.
