A memorial service will be held for two Mahopac brothers who remain missing following a hunting accident in which their SUV overturned in a rushing river in Idaho.
The men, Mahopac High School graduates Raymond Ferrieri, 24, and his 21-year-old brother, Jesse, went missing May 21 when the SUV they were riding in overturned in the Selway River which is located in the wilds of Idaho.
Six men were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Two of the men were able to escape uninjured and returned to a hunting camp for help, said Idaho County Sheriff Doug Giddings.
Giddings canceled the search Tuesday after a week of using helicopters, ATV's, special dogs, divers and ground teams only turned up a boot. None of the men were located inside the SUV.
In response to the tragedy, a "Prayer Service of Hope" has been organized for the brothers and their family. The prayer service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, June 1, at St. John the Evangelist in Mahopac.
All are invited to attend the service. A donation will be collected to support the family and their recovery efforts
