'Sexually Violent' Offender Convicted Of Abusing 7-Year-Old Reports Move To Wassaic

A registered "sexually violent" offender convicted of having sexual contact with a 7-year-old girl has reported a move in Dutchess County.

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Dutchess residents regarding the residency of 27-year-old Gregory Dunckle, who has reported a move from Catskill to Sinpatch Road in Wassaic.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Dunckle as a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated as a sexually violent sex offender.

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Dunckle had sexual contact with his 7-year-old victim on May 15 this year. He was convicted of first-degree sexual abuse by forcible compulsion on Aug. 22 and sentenced to a term of 10 years probation. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.
