A popular line of minifridges is being recalled after several overheated and caught fire, officials said.
Cooluli is recalling about 250,000 of its 10-liter and 15-liter minifridges, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Thursday, Aug. 13. An electrical switch in the minifridges can short-circuit, posing fire and burn hazards.
There have been at least 19 reports of the minifridges "smoking, sparking, burning, melting, overheating or catching fire." One person reported a smoke inhalation injury, while the incidents caused more than $80,000 in property damage, according to …
Teaneck High School Teacher Gorki Marcelo Dies At 47
A Teaneck High School teacher whose impact was felt by students, staff, and families has died at 47, school officials said.
Gorki Marcelo died on Thursday, Aug. 13, according to Teaneck Public Schools and Alvarez Funeraria. He was born on Nov. 27, 1978, in the Dominican Republic, according to the funeral home. A cause of death was not made public.
Marcelo was a business teacher at Teaneck High School, Interim Superintendent Angela R. Davis said in a letter to the school community.

Tesla Plows Through NJ Garage, Crashes Into Kitchen
A Tesla crashed through a garage and into the kitchen of a South Brunswick home on Friday, Aug. 14, authorities said.
South Brunswick police and EMS, along with the Monmouth Junction and Kingston fire departments, responded to the Pheasant Run home at 11:01 a.m., police said.
The 2026 Tesla went through the garage before crashing into the kitchen, according to police. The driver, a 68-year-old Plainsboro man, suffered a minor injury, authorities said.

Complaints about local students using marijuana, THC vapes, and edibles led investigators to a Clifton smoke shop where more than $80,000 worth of unregulated products were seized, authorities said.
