A new ranking reveals which careers make workers feel the most and least secure about keeping their jobs. Career website Zety released its 2026 Job Security Index on Monday, Aug. 31. The study analyzed millions of employee-reported job security ratings and worker sentiment metrics to compare how secure people feel across industries. The job security scores ranged from 2.25 to 3.89 on a 5-point scale. The US Postal Service is planning price hikes for the 2026 holiday season. The higher USPS rates are expected to begin on Sunday, Oct. 4. The temporary prices would stay in place through Sunday, Jan. 17, 2027, pending a review by the Postal Regulatory Commission. Twenty-one dogs were removed from a Long Island boarding business after police found the animals in various stages of neglect, authorities said.
