Brewster Celebrates Grand Opening Of Renovated Wells Park

BREWSTER, N.Y. -- The newly renovated Wells Park celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sunday, May 15.

Parks and Recreation Director Trustee Tom Boissonnault and Mayor Jim Schoenig gave brief remarks and thanked those who donated labor, material and equipment to renovate the park.

Second Saturday Band performed live music for the hundreds of residents engaging in opening festivities. 

The opening also included treats from Sweet Central Express, Funzone Inflatables, a Girl Scout fundraiser and more. 

Wells Park features more than 11 acres of green space. The Village of Brewster has a 25-year lease. 

Improvements include a renovated pavilion and restrooms, barbecue grills, picnic tables, playgrounds, a multi-purpose field with a stage at one end and tiered seating at the other, tennis courts and three play areas.
