Schraufnagel was originally scheduled to appear at the court's regular session, which is on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. The change of date was disclosed by the court's office.
Schraufnagel is expected to accept a revised plea deal with the Westchester County District Attorney's office, which would require him to formally register as a sex offender. The first iteration of the plea deal, which Schraufnagel entered a guilty plea for, was rejected by New Castle Town Justice Douglas Kraus because it did not include formal registration.
It is not clear what charges Schraufnagel will plead guilty to, nor is there any information on sentencing. The rejected version called for Schraufnagel to plead guilty to three misdemeanor-level counts of endangering the welfare of a child, serve three years of probation and to be subject to monitoring similar to that of a sex offender during his sentence.
The former teacher, who worked at Greeley from 2003 to 2015, is charged with a felony count of criminal sexual act, four misdemeanor counts of sex abuse and one misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child. In the criminal case, he is alleged to have had sexual contact with two students and non-sexual (but legally injurious) contact with a third.

Schraufnagel also faces civil cases from seven student accusers, two of which are the criminal sex-abuse accusers. The Chappaqua Central School District is listed as a co-defendant in the cases, which involve a mix of active lawsuits and preliminary paperwork needed to formally sue.
The sex-abuse case has resulted in an uproar in the school district, as furious residents criticized officials over their handling over the matter.
Last Monday, the school board announced that Superintendent Lyn McKay would resign for purposes of retirement. Although no reason for mentioned for McKay's upcoming exit, the announcement came following calls for parents for her ouster over the Schraufnagel matter.
McKay's resignation is effective on Jan. 2., 2017; Eric Byrne, assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, took over her day to day job responsibilities on Tuesday following approval by the school board.
