Menorah Lightings Planned Across Northern Westchester

This year, Hannukah is scheduled to begin on Saturday, Dec. 24, which is also Christmas Eve. The relatively late start means that menorah-lighting ceremonies across the area will fall around the same time. Here is an overview of the events:

Mount Kisco:

Mount Kisco Hebrew Congregation, a local synagogue, is scheduled to hold a menorah lighting on Saturday, Dec. 24, beginning at 6 p.m. It will take plaza in front of the Mount Kisco Public Library and Village Hall. 

Bedford:

Chabad of Bedford announced that a menorah lighting will take place on Sunday, Dec. 25 at 4 p.m. It will be held on the Village Green, which is in the heart of Bedford Village.

Chappaqua & Armonk:

Chabad of Armonk, Chappaqua & Pleasantville announced that it will hold two menorah lightings. The first will take place in front of the town of New Castle's Community Center, which is in downtown Chappaqua, on Sunday, Dec. 25 at 5 p.m. The center is located at 10 Senter St.

The group's second lighting will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 5:30 p.m., and will be held at Wampus Park in Armonk.

Somers:

The town of Somers is scheduled to host a menorah lighting in front of its town hall (the historic Elephant Hotel) on Sunday, Dec. 25 at 6 p.m.

Croton Falls:

An interfaith gathering at the Croton Falls Community Church is scheduled to include a menorah lighting on Saturday, Dec. 24 at 4 p.m., according to a report in The North Salem News, which can be found here.
