Daniel "Danny" Crawford Jr., 32, was found around 1 a.m. Saturday, Connecticut State police said.

"It's a terrible way to lose someone," said his father Daniel Crawford Sr. "Maybe the money will help someone come forward."

His father is encouraging anyone with information, or who may have seen something to contact state police at 203-267-2200.

Crawford, a Brewster High School grad and avid fisherman, was found after state police received a 911 call at about 1 a.m. Saturday reporting a person in the roadway near Exit 2 in Danbury.

Once on scene, police located a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee on the right shoulder and Crawford's body, who died of an apparent fatal injury, according to state police. The vehicle involved did not remain at the scene, said state police.

Crawford could often be found in the local reservoirs fishing with his friends, it was a great passion and hobby of his. He was a people person and will be greatly missed by all who knew him, his family said.
