The Danbury Police Department is renewing its call for help from the public to find a missing Danbury woman who has not been seen since October 2017.

Laelcira DeLima, 53, was last seen on Friday, Oct. 20, at 5 p.m. when she told her two children, ages 15 and 10, that she loved them and was going to a local Walmart to pick up a prescription, said Danbury Police Detective Lt. Christian Carroccio.

She was wearing a black V-neck shirt and blue jeans, police said.

Since that time, Danbury police have interviewed dozens of people, chased down numerous leads, and flown a helicopter over the surrounding wooded areas in search of the missing woman, Carroccio said.

They have also been in contact with the Brazilian consulate, where the missing woman is from and still has family members, but she has not contacted them or entered the country, he added.

Her car, a red 2016 Honda Accord with Connecticut license plates of AC98150, was found by New York State Police on Nov. 7, 2017, at the Putnam Diner in Patterson New York.

The car was processed by crime scene technicians, but nothing indicating foul play was found, Carroccio said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Danbury Police Department 203-797-4611. Calls can also be made to the Anonymous Tips Line 203-790-8477.
