Two NYC Men Charged With Selling Heroin In Putnam County

PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Two New York City men were arrested on heroin-related charges by the Putnam County Sheriff's Department on Friday, Jan. 2, according to officials.

Tiquan Lewis, 29, and Donnell Norman, 25, were targeted in a month-long investigation into the sales of heroin in the county. During the course of the investigation, authorities were able to purchase on five separate occasions from Lewis and one time from Norman, police said.

The first purchase netted more than one-half ounce of heroin, totaling 236 glassine bags of the drug. On the four other occasions, 190 glassine bags of heroin were sold, police said. 

Lewis was charged with second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, five counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and four counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. Norman was charged with second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance  and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said. 

Norman had his bail set at $500,000 while Lewis was held without bail, police said.
