Teen Scooter Rider Flees Traffic Stop, Crashes Into SUV, Pole On Long Island: Police
A 19-year-old motorized scooter rider was seriously injured after allegedly fleeing a traffic stop, crashing into an SUV, and slamming into a utility pole on Long Island, police said.
Albert Jose Rosario Duran, of Copiague, was riding a 2025 Racestar scooter southbound on Great Neck Road in Copiague when First Precinct officers attempted to stop him at approximately 12:05 p.m. Friday, July 10, Suffolk County Police said.
Rosario Duran refused to pull over and attempted to evade officers, according to investigators.
